Unacademy fires teacher for asking students to not vote for illiterate candidates; Delhi CM objects

A recent decision of the educational platform Unacademy appears to be turning into a political storm.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal criticised Unacademy for sacking one of its teachers for sharing his "personal opinion" in the classroom.

Karan Sangwan was reportedly fired for asking his students to vote for literate candidates in upcoming elections, and not put uneducated persons in positions of power.

Kejriwal on August 17 asked whether it's a crime to ask people to vote for literate candidates, and added that illiterate representatives can't build a modern India of the 21st century.
