Rahul Gandhi has been sentenced to 2 years in prison after being found guilty of criminal defamation for a 2019 remark linking the surname Modi to thieves.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has said that the party believes in the judiciary and it will fight Rahul Gandhi's conviction in a defamation case according to the law.

Kharge claimed that the party knew what the verdict will be because the judges hearing the case kept changing.

Rahul Gandhi has been sentenced to 2 years in prison after being found guilty of criminal defamation for a 2019 remark linking the surname Modi to thieves. He has given bail to file an appeal within 30 days.
