Growing pro-Khalistan activities in Canada: What PM Modi said to Justin Trudeau

During a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed concerns to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau regarding the "continuing anti-India activities of extremist elements in Canada."

PM Modi conveyed to Trudeau that these extremist elements in Canada are involved in "promoting secessionism and inciting violence against Indian diplomats, damaging diplomatic premises, and threatening the Indian community and their places of worship," as stated by the Indian foreign ministry.

The foreign ministry's statement also highlighted the need for Canada to recognize the potential nexus between these extremist forces and organized crime, drug syndicates, and human trafficking. Both countries must collaborate in addressing these threats effectively.
