G20 Summit: On Xi skipping event, China says 'ties with India stable on the whole'

One day after officially confirming that Chinese President Xi Jinping would not be attending the G20 Summit in New Delhi, China's foreign ministry has expressed its support for India as the host of this high-profile global event, NDTV reported.

Beijing has also conveyed its readiness to collaborate with all participating nations to ensure the G20 Summit's success.

According to a report by NDTV, Mao Ning, the spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry, was questioned about whether the decision to send the Chinese Premier to India instead of the President indicated any strains in Sino-Indian relations. In response, she emphasized that the overall state of China-India relations remained stable, highlighting that the two nations had continued to engage in dialogue and communication across various levels.
