'No allegation that China has occupied any land': Ex-Tripura CM Manik Sarkar

Former Tripura chief minister Manik Sarkar on Sunday differed from the national opposition leaders on the topic of border dispute with China. The CPM politburo member said that there was no allegation anywhere that China had occupied any foreign nation’s soil.

Referring to Sino-Indian wars, Sarkar said that after 1960 China did across into India but they also left on their own. He said they entered the Indian territory just to show their strength and not to occupy.

Recently, China had blamed India for dragging the border dispute after Indian foreign minister S Jaishankar accused them of dishonouring the arrangement between the two countries by deploying more troops along the Line of Actual Control.

India's opposition has repeatedly accused the Indian govt of lying about the standoff and claimed that China has occupied more Indian territory than the govt admits.
