Meme fest erupts as Pakistan’s 'now deleted' loan plea post amid border conflict went viral

As India’s Operation Sindoor continues to dismantle terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, Islamabad’s economic collapse is becoming increasingly evident—and the internet is having a field day.

A desperate loan appeal from Pakistan’s Economic Affairs Division, briefly posted on its verified X account before being deleted, triggered an avalanche of memes and online ridicule.

The official-sounding plea went viral before its removal, with social media users mocking the wording, timing, and tone.

Many speculated whether the post was genuine, a misstep, or the result of a hack.

Others pointed out the irony of running out of resources barely days into the conflict.

Some users turned to pop culture and satire to roast the situation further:

People got no chill—roast mode was officially on.

Grammar jokes also entered the chat.

Even the government agencies joining in!

Pakistan claims the account is hacked! The official X handle of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting posted after the post asking for loans went viral.

The plea, framed against the backdrop of a collapsing economy and growing tensions, quickly sparked a wave of memes mocking Pakistan’s financial distress. Social media users had a field day creating humorous takes on the government’s financial plea.

The viral wave of memes offers a humorous lens on an otherwise serious scenario, as Pakistan’s stock market plunges, its foreign debt nears $9 billion, and international observers brace for further escalation. While Islamabad seeks de-escalation and financial lifelines, the internet seems to be sending back only jokes.
