Luxury cars, jewellery & more: inside details on BSF officer arrested in Rs 125 crore fraud case

A Border Security Officer has been arrested for cheating people of Rupees 125 crore while posing as an Indian Police Service Officer.

The Gurugram police nabbed Deputy Commandant Praveen Yadav, his wife and sister for allegedly defrauding three businessmen of over Rs 100 crore by promising them a construction contract in the National Security Guard.

Yadav was posted in the National Security Guard headquarters at Manesar in Gurgaon district.

Rupees 14 crore in cash, jewellery worth Rupees one crore and seven luxury cars, including a BMW, Jeep and Mercedes has been recovered from the BSF officer.

Police said Yadav got all the fraud money transferred to a fake account in the name of NSG and this account was opened by his sister Ritu Yadav, who is a manager in Axis Bank.

A senior police officer said that Yadav suffered a loss of Rupees 60 lakh in the stock market and he planned to recover the money by cheating people.

It was on January 8 when one Narain Das Israni had filed a complaint with the Gurugram police that Yadav had duped him of Rs 65 crore, promising construction work in the NSG. Similarly, businessman Davinder Yadav also alleged a similar fraud amounting to Rs 37 crore.
