Here's why Telangana Minister schooled Indigo to 'respect local languages'

A fresh row over language has sparked with Telangana minister KTR urging Indigo Airlines to respect local languages and passengers. The response has emerged after a woman passenger in a Telangana-bound flight was made to change her seat allegedly due to language barrier.

The issue was brought to light by one Devasmita Chakraverty, who took to Twitter and narrated the entire incident.

Alleging discrimination, she claimed that the concerned woman was 'forced to change her seat' because she understood only Telugu, not English/Hindi. The user further wrote that the attendant cited security issue for her act. "No dignity, non-Hindi treated as second class citizens in their own state," she added.

KTR, in his tweet, also urged the Airlines to recruit staff well-versed in local language like Telugu, Tamil, Kannada saying that it will be a win-win situation for everyone.
