G20 summit: select Delhi hospitals on ‘high alert’

As New Delhi prepares to receive diplomats and world leaders for the G20 summit, three private and five government hospitals have been put on “high alert.”

Delhi’s Health Ministry has put aside a team of 80 doctors that will work in shifts at the hotels reserved for the 2-day summit.

All life-saving facilities have been put in place at G20 venues, including a total of 106 ambulances that can be dispatched round-the-clock.

Lok Nayak Hospital has reserved 20 rooms, GB Pant Hospital 10 rooms, GTB Hospital 20 beds, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital 65 beds, and Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital has reserved 40 beds for addressing any situation that may arise during the G20 Summit, news agency PTI reported.

Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj emphasised that there will be "no compromise" in the healthcare arrangements being made for the foreign guests.
