G20 Summit: DRDO deploys drone-hunting tech in Delhi

India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation has joined in the security efforts for the G20 summit in New Delhi on September 9-10. DRDO’s drone countering system has been deployed in the diplomatic conclave to boost surveillance.

Days before the event, authorities also issued a “Notice to Airmen” for the IGI Airport in Delhi, which essentially restricts all ariel vehicles except scheduled flights and defence drills.

Several high-profile guests and world leaders are slated to arrive on Friday to attend the G20 summit. US President Joe Biden, UK PM Rishi Sunak, and Canadian PM Justin Trudeau are some of many world leaders who have confirmed their presence.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin are some of the world leaders who will not be travelling to the event.

Tight security measures have been taken in the Indian national capital to ensure the smooth conduct of the crucial diplomatic meeting.
