Air Cargo Services Restored at Itanagar's Donyi Polo Airport

Itanagar, Nov 12 (PTI): Air cargo services have been reinstated at Donyi Polo Airport in Itanagar, as confirmed by an official source. The services had been temporarily suspended due to the transition to the airport's newly inaugurated terminal building.

A statement released by the office of Arunachal Pradesh Civil Aviation Minister Balo Raja on Tuesday revealed that the BCAS regional director communicated with the director of Donyi Polo Airport and the manager of Indigo Services, granting approval for the recommencement of air cargo services.

The Trade and Commerce department of Arunachal Pradesh brought attention to the challenges faced by the state, including registered and participating MSMEs, in dispatching consignments for the India-International Trade Fair 2025 in New Delhi from November 14 to 27, because of the suspension of air cargo services.

Minister Raja promptly addressed the issue by writing to the Donyi Polo Airport director, urging immediate action to restore the services. His persistent efforts were successful, with the BCAS regional director granting approval for the resumption of cargo services on Tuesday.

The director of Donyi Polo Airport, P Narendra, stated that Indigo Airlines has already put in place the necessary arrangements to restart the air cargo services, which will be available immediately.
