Chandrayaan-3 | Pragyan rover runs into first crater on lunar surface, takes safe path-Watch

Four days after Chandrayaan-3 safely touched down on the Moon, its rover, Pragyan encountered the first ever crater on the lunar surface on August 27.

Sharing the image of the crater, Indian Space agency ISRO on X, formerly known as Twitter, wrote," On August 27, 2023, the Rover came across a 4-meter diameter crater positioned 3 meters ahead of its location. The Rover was commanded to retrace the path. It's now safely heading on a new path."

Pragyan rover continues to explore hidden secrets of Moon since it exited from lander Vikram’s belly hours after Chandryaan-3 landing.

On August 27, the spacecraft sent back the Moon's temperature profile at varied depths.
