BSF jawans injured in Naxalite IED blast in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district

Two Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast set off by Naxalites in Narayanpur district, Chhattisgarh, on Friday. The incident occurred in the morning when a BSF road-opening team was patrolling between their camp near Garpa village and the village itself. The explosion resulted in injuries to two jawans, who were promptly evacuated to a hospital.

This attack follows a similar incident on Thursday, where two commandos from the CoBRA unit of the CRPF were injured in a pressure IED explosion in Bijapur district. Earlier this month, similar IED blasts in Sukma and Bijapur districts injured several people, including police personnel and civilians. On January 6, Naxalites detonated an IED that killed eight police officers and their civilian driver in Bijapur.

The rising frequency of such attacks highlights the ongoing threat posed by Naxalites in the region.
