On the third day of the World Economic Forum (WEF) summit in Davos, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is leading the charge to position the state as a global investment hotspot. With a jam-packed schedule, Naidu is set to hold high-level discussions aimed at advancing transformative initiatives in renewable energy, agriculture, and technology.

The day’s engagements include meetings with top executives from global powerhouses such as Unilever, DP World Group, Petronas, Google Cloud, PepsiCo, and AstraZeneca. These strategic dialogues are expected to explore significant investment opportunities and partnerships, reinforcing Andhra Pradesh's appeal as a destination for global capital.

In a highlight of his schedule, Naidu will meet Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates, along with representatives of the World Economic Forum. These discussions will focus on leveraging global expertise to propel Andhra Pradesh’s socio-economic development goals.

A major milestone of the day will be the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Greenko, a leading player in the renewable energy sector. The agreement underscores the state’s commitment to sustainability and green energy, marking a pivotal step in its renewable energy roadmap.

Naidu will also participate in roundtable discussions on natural farming, human mission collaboration, and green hydrogen. These conversations align with Andhra Pradesh's focus on fostering innovation and sustainability to ensure inclusive growth.

This comes on the heels of a significant announcement made earlier in the week, where Naidu revealed a landmark Rs 1.4 lakh crore investment by ArcelorMittal/Nippon Steel for a 17.8-million-ton integrated steel project in Anakapalli. Complementing this, State Minister Nara Lokesh urged Mittal to consider transforming Bhavanapadu into a world-class petrochemical hub, highlighting its robust infrastructure and R&D capabilities in Vizag.

Lokesh further proposed a Rs 3,500 crore investment under HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL) for a 2 GW solar cell manufacturing plant, which promises to create 2,000 jobs. The project has received positive feedback and assurances of government support.

Chandrababu Naidu’s presence at WEF Davos reflects his vision of driving Andhra Pradesh toward a future defined by sustainable development, technological innovation, and inclusive economic growth. His efforts aim to present the state as a global leader in attracting investments and advancing critical industries.
