Talking about his Emmy win, Vir Das said that he hopes many Indian comedians win the award in the future.

After recording a historic win at the International Emmy's for his comedy special, Vir DAs has returned to India. The comedian said that he hopes that his win is not the last win for Indian comedy internationally. He said that Indian comedy has reached this stage because of the comedians who came before him. Vir Das also expressed his desire to do a show with Johnny Lever, his idol.

Vir das won his first International Emmy for comedy on November 21 and created a historic win. Now, the comedian and actor has opened up on the big win.

The comedian was spotted at the Delhi airport on November 22. In an interview with ANI, Vir opened up on his experience. He shared that this might be the first win for Indian comedy at an international comedy but there would be many more to come.

Vir Das reveals his idol
When asked about his idol, the ‘Vir Das: Landing’ actor shared that Johnny Lever is the greatest live Indian comedian today and revealed that he would like to perform with him.

The actor-comedian was nominated for an International Emmy for the second time for his Netflix special Vir Das: Landing, which won in the Comedy category. Le Flambeau, El Encargado and Derry Girls Season 3 were the other nominations.
The actor shared his picture with the Emmy award on social media and wrote, "For India. For Indian comedy. Every breath, every word. Thank you to the International Emmy Awards for this incredible honour."

Celebrities react to Vir Das win
Reacting to his win, many celebrities including Ayushmann Khurrana, Taapsee Pannu, Richa Chadha, Soni Razdan congratulated him in the comment section.
