Viral ad featuring Ranveer Singh-Johnny Sins sparks row: Bhavna Chauhan responds to criticism

4 days after an ad on men’s sexual health left the internet in splits, there has been a massive debate among the actors. While Rashmi Desai had criticised the ad and claimed that it was a humiliation to all the TV industry, and people who work in television’, the actor who was seen in the ad has herself responded to the criticism.

Actor Bhavna Chauhan, who shared the screen with Ranveer Singh and adult star Johnny Sins in the viral ad, has opened up about the criticism. In a conversation with India Today, Bhavna revealed that the ‘original script was funnier, but the team who made the ad altered it.’ Responding to the criticism that the ad made a mockery of the TV shows, Bhavna said, "They are marketers and understand the ripple effect of such things. Honestly, the original script was funnier but they altered it accordingly. The intention has always been to make it look like a normal scene from a TV show so that it's viewed casually by everyone at home. They wanted the topic to be normalised."

TV actor Rashami Desai had slammed the ad and said that it felt like a slap. Reacting to the same, Bhavna said that she never felt that TV was disrespected during the making of the ad. Bhavna defended it further by saying, “No one made fun of the TV industry.”

About Ranveer Singh-Johnny Sins’ viral ad

The ad, a parody of an Indian TV drama, was for a sexual healthcare brand. Bhavna Chauhan played Kishu, who is ready to leave the house as her husband, played by Johnny Sins, suffers with sexual health issues. Bhavna’s character complains to Ranveer Singh’s character about his brother’s issue. The ad received a massive response from the Internet users. In fact, Bollywood celebrities took to the comment section to share their reaction on the commercial.
