Sania Mirza's family releases statement on Shoaib Malik's marriage; know what did Sania's family say

Indian tennis legend Sania Mirza has reacted to the news of her ex husband Shoaib Malik getting married to Pakistani actor Sana Javed. After much uproar on social media, Sania’s mother shared a statement on behalf of the family and Sania’s team about Shoaib’s marriage.

The statement said, “Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a few months now.” Sania wished Shoaib well for his new journey hinting that things might not have ended on a bitter note between the now estranged couple. Sania’s family and team also urged all the fans and well-wishers to refrain from indulging in any speculation and respect her privacy.

Indian tennis star’s father earlier clarified on the same. “It was a ‘khula’, Sania Mirza’s father Imran Mirza told the news agency PTI. ‘Khula’ refers to the right of a Muslim woman to unilaterally divorce her husband.

Sania Mirza had caught the attention of social media earlier this week with her cryptic post. Netizens were speculating that all is not well between Sania and Shoaib. Fans of both the tennis star and Pakistan cricketer were left shocked on Saturday as Shoaib announced the news of his wedding with actor Sana Javed along with some beautiful pictures.

Shoaib has married popular Pakistani TV actor Sana Javed in Karachi. The cricketer who got married for the third time, shared the pictures on his Instagram handle and wrote, “And We created you in pairs”.
