‘Mahabharat’ fame Nitish Bharadwaj lodges complaint against wife, levels sensational charges

TV actor Nitish Bharadwaj, who is best known for his role as ‘Lord Krishna’ in BR Chopra’s ‘Mahabharat’ has lodged a police complaint against his estranged wife. The actor has alleged mental harassment and unruly conduct by his wife. Reports suggest that Nitish met the commissioner of police of Bhopal and submitted a written complaint against his wife.

The actor has accused his wife Smita of not letting him meet their daughters. He also alleged that his wife has been changing schools of their daughters to keep him away from meeting the children. He has reportedly said that his wife has mentally harassed him via her actions. He has urged the CP to look into the matter and ensure his access to his children.

His wife Smita Gate is an IAS officer and is currently posted as the Additional Chief Secretary at MP Human Rights Commission. Nitish Bharadwaj and his wife separated in 2019, ten years after their marriage. The estranged couple had filed for divorce, which is still pending. His wife currently lives in Indore with their daughters.

The actor has featured in several TV shows and films including ‘Vishnu Puran’ ‘Mohenjo Daro’, and ‘Kedarnath’ apart from his hit show ‘Mahabharat’. He has also been a member of Lok Sabha and a BJP leader.
