Fresh Controversy: Mohan Babu accused in Soundarya's death

A new complaint alleges Mohan Babu's involvement in Soundarya's death over a property feud. Despite no FIR, the case renews interest in the enigmatic crash.

Fresh Controversy: Mohan Babu accused in Soundarya's death

In a dramatic development, two decades after the tragic demise of 'Sooryavansham' actress Soundarya, a fresh controversy has surfaced involving veteran Telugu actor Mohan Babu.

A formal complaint lodged in Andhra Pradesh's Khammam district accuses Babu of orchestrating Soundarya's death, claiming it was a calculated murder linked to a heated property dispute.

The complainant, identified as Chittimallu, alleges that Mohan Babu pressured Soundarya and her brother to sell six acres of land in Shamshabad. When the siblings reportedly refused, tensions boiled over between the two actors.

Chittimallu claims that, following Soundarya's untimely death in a plane crash, Babu forcibly seized the disputed land.

No First Information Report (FIR) has been filed thus far, and it remains unclear how the complainant is connected to the deceased actress or Mohan Babu.

Soundarya, celebrated for her role as Radha in the 1999 Amitabh Bachchan film 'Sooryavansham', died alongside her brother on April 17, 2004.

The private jet she was traveling in, en route to a political event in Karimnagar, crashed, claiming her life at the age of 31. Reports suggest that Soundarya was pregnant at the time, and her body could not be retrieved from the crash site.

Chittimallu is calling for a renewed investigation into Mohan Babu's alleged involvement in the land acquisition. He has appealed to the state government to take control of the contested land and has sought police protection, citing threats to his safety.

Additionally, Chittimallu's complaint references another family conflict, this time highlighting a property dispute between Mohan Babu and his younger son, Manchu Manoj.

The Manchu family has been in the spotlight following an incident last year where an agitated Mohan Babu reportedly clashed with a journalist at his residence. In response to these events, Mohan Babu's elder son, Manchu Vishnu, downplayed the turmoil, characterizing it as a personal matter that would soon be resolved.
