‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’ Box Office Day 1: Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani starrer ‘puts up a healthy score’

‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’, starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani released in theatres on June 29. The romantic drama, directed by Sameer Vidwans, put up a ‘healthy score’ on its opening day as it was released on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha. According to film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film earned ₹ 9.25 crore on its first day.

This is Kartik’s third biggest opening film after ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ and ‘Love Aaj Kal’.

Sharing the box office figures, Taran Adarsh wrote, ‘#SatyaPremKiKatha puts up a healthy score on Day 1 [holiday]… Gathered speed during the course of the day, after an ordinary start in the morning shows… Evening shows, expectedly, saw very good occupancies due to glowing WOM… Thu ₹ 9.25 cr. #India biz.’

He added, ‘Emerges #KartikAaryan’s third biggest opening day, after #BhoolBhulaiyaa2 and #LoveAajKal. Going forward, the numbers may decline on Day 2 [Fri], since it’s a working day, but Day 3 and 4 [Sat-Sun] hold the key… If its target audience - families - patronise the content, a strong weekend number cannot be ruled out. #Boxoffice.’

‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’ marks Kartik and Kiara’s second collaboration after their 2022 blockbuster ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film was earlier titled ‘Satyanarayan Ki Katha’ but was renamed ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’ to avoid controversy.
