‘Naatu Naatu’ from SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘RRR’ has entered the Oscar race in the Best Original Song category. MM Keeravani, who has composed the energetic track, has reacted to the Academy Award nod. He said that the song is like his infant son, who has become big and is now going places to bag a good name for him.

Speaking with Deadline, Keeravani said, ‘It feels great. My feelings about the Oscars is the best, because it involves the dreams of artists from all over the world; which is not a joke. It takes a great deal of effort and credibility. That’s why the Oscars is the Oscars. That’s why we respect and value it very much. And I’m very proud to be nominated for the first time from [South] Asia in this music category. I’m thrilled.’

Describing the song as his son, MM Keeravani said, ‘Yesterday, he was an infant in my cradle. And now my son is going places and bagging a good name for me. I’m like a proud father. I’m very grateful for this brainchild. And for all the people who made this big wave possible’.

‘RRR’ lyricist Chandrabose also expressed his happiness as his music piece ‘Naatu Naatu’ bagged an Oscar Nomination. Talking to news agency ANI, Chandrabose said, ‘I will not let the success get to my head. Seeing the RRR casting list on the Oscar list feels very great and proud’.

He further said, ‘I never dreamt this much height in the wildest dreams. Thanks to Keeravani for giving songs and Rajamouli’.
Talking about the exposure, Indian cinema along with the Telegu industry is getting presently, Chandrabose said, ‘Telugu songs and Indian cinema pieces are reaching out to the audience on a global level. And purely this song was a collective effort of the team. Today, genuinely I’m on cloud nine. We all are very excited and are eagerly waiting for the Oscars to be held in March.’

He added, ‘Getting recognition on a global level is definitely huge. This honour brings up a lot of love across the nation and around the globe.’

Two-time Academy Award-winning music composer AR Rahman also reacted to ‘Naatu Naatu’ securing an Oscar nod. Speaking to the media in Mumbai, he said that he wants the ‘RRR’ team to bring home the coveted award.
