Diljit Dosanjh Declares 'No More Concerts in India,' Boycotts Shows Over Poor Infrastructure

Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh, known for his electrifying performances and chart-topping hits, has announced he will not host concerts in India until the country's live show infrastructure improves. The statement came during his 'Dil-Luminati' concert in Chandigarh on December 14, where he expressed his frustration over the lack of proper facilities for live performances.

Diljit Critiques India's Concert Infrastructure

During the event, Diljit addressed the audience, saying, “India does not have the infrastructure for live shows. This is a major revenue-generating space that also provides livelihoods to many. Authorities should focus on improving this sector.”

He further suggested improvements for audience experience, stating, “I will try to set up a stage in the middle next time, so the crowd can gather around it. But until there’s better infrastructure, I won’t perform in India.”

Controversy Surrounding the Chandigarh Concert

The much-anticipated concert faced its share of hurdles. Reports emerged of tickets being resold at exorbitant prices, leading to accusations of black marketing. Responding to criticism, Diljit denied any involvement, stating, “An artist cannot control what happens with ticket resale. I am disappointed with those blaming me for this.”

Additionally, the singer was issued advisories by the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights and Telangana authorities, urging him to avoid performing songs that promote violence or alcohol consumption due to their negative influence on youth.

Diljit Dedicates Concert to Chess Champion Gukesh

In a touching gesture, Diljit dedicated the Chandigarh leg of his tour to India’s FIDE World Chess Champion, Gukesh Dommaraju. Praising Gukesh’s dedication, he said, “Achieving such milestones at a young age is inspiring.”

End of the Dil-Luminati India Tour

Diljit’s Dil-Luminati tour, which kicked off with a grand opening in Delhi, has drawn massive crowds across multiple cities, including Jaipur, Hyderabad, and Kolkata. The tour will conclude with performances in Mumbai on December 19 and Guwahati on December 29. Known for blending Punjabi beats with global appeal, Diljit has cemented his place as one of India’s most beloved performers.

Professional Highs Amid Concert Disputes

Apart from his concerts, Diljit has recently collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan on the song Don and sung for Varun Dhawan’s upcoming project Baby John. Despite challenges, the singer continues to captivate audiences worldwide with his talent and charisma.
