National Awards 2023: Allu Arjun calls award ‘double achievement’; recreates iconic Pushpa moment | Watch

Megastar Allu Arjun, who won the national award for his performance in the blockbuster film ‘Pushpa’, recreated an iconic ‘Pushpa’ moment on the red carpet of the National Awards 2023.

The video of this spontaneous reenactment has gone viral, mesmerising fans across the nation.

Ahead of the ceremony, he expressed his excitement and said, ‘I am extremely happy I am receiving this award, and receiving it for a commercial film is a double achievement for me personally.’

For the event, Allu Arjun donned a stylish and classic ensemble.

Apart from winning in the Best Actor category, ‘Pushpa’ also won the award for Best Music Director (Songs).

‘Pushpa’ was released in December 2021. The film was a massive hit not only in the Telugu-speaking regions but also across other parts of India.

Allu Arjun is now preparing for ‘Pushpa 2’ aka ‘Pushpa: The Rule’. The film is releasing next year in August.

Allu Arjun shared his first-look poster from the forthcoming film in which he was seen dressed in a saree with his face painted in shades of blue and red. He also sported bangles, jewellery, a nose pin and jhumkas.

In September, the first look poster of Fahadh Faasil from the movie was also released.

‘Pushpa 2’ will see Rashmika Mandanna reprise her role as Srivalli.

Meanwhile, another Telugu movie that ruled at the National Film Awards 2023 was SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’. The film won Best Popular Film: Providing Wholesome Entertainment, Best Male Playback Singer and Best Stunt Choreography.

R Madhavan’s ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ won the Best Feature Film Award. The Best Actress Award was given to Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon for ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and ‘Mimi’, respectively.

President Droupadi Murmu conferred the 69th National Film Awards on October 17 at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
