'Merry Christmas': Vicky Kaushal lauds Katrina Kaif's film, calls it her 'best work to date'

The film, also starring Vijay Sethupathi, released in theatres on Friday (January 12), has opened to rave reviews from the audience and critics alike.

Taking to his Instagram account, the 'Sam Bahadur' actor shared a picture of his wife, praising his 'love' for her 'honesty and nuance' in Sriram Raghavan’s directorial film.

“#MerryChristmas everyone! So freaking proud of you, love, for how beautifully you have surrendered yourself to Sriram Sir’s masterful story telling and to the complexities of ‘Maria’… her rawness, her mystery, her magic—all done with such honesty and nuance! And that dance… uff! This one’s truly your best work to date,” he wrote.

Vicky further showered compliments on Vijay Sethupathi and added, "#VijaySethupati, sir. I don't know how you bring that childlike innocence to your characters, but it’s pure joy to watch you bring Albert alive." Revealing that the film's climax is mind-blowing, the actor urged everyone to watch Merry Christmas in theatres as he concluded, “Go enjoy this thrilling fun ride in theatres near you!"

'Merry Christmas' is touted to be a mystery thriller that follows Albert (Vijay Sethupathi), who has come back to Mumbai from Dubai only to find that his mother is no more. On the fateful night of Christmas Eve, he meets a stranger (Katrina Kaif), but what could have possibly been a romantic night turns out to be a nightmare for both.
