'Merry Christmas' trailer: Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif date in a crime thriller

The trailer of Sriram Raghavan’s ‘Merry Christmas’ was released on December 20. The film stars Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi and the trailer shows traces of Raghavan’s last film ‘Andhadhun.’

The trailer starts with Katrina and Vijay’s characters meeting and falling for each other. The two characters meet on Christmas eve. The first half of the trailer shows a dreamy world of Vijay where he is not able to believe what’s happening in his life, while the second half shows dramatic events that end up making the two land in trouble. Sanjay Kapoor is also seen making appearance.

In a scene, Katrina asks Vijay to choose between two fingers after which she reveals a card which has Rajesh Khanna’s picture on it. The card reads, “The night is darkest before the dawn.” The story moves forward, and we also see a little girl holding a teddy bear that seems to be Katrina’s daughter in the film.

Merry Christmas is shot in two languages. The Hindi version co-stars Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, and Tinnu Anand, while the Tamil version has Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu, and Rajesh Williams in the same roles. Child actor Pari is also introduced in the film. Ashwini Kalsekar and Radhika Apte will be seen in cameos in both the versions. The film is schedul;ed to release on January 12, 2024.
