Language is clearly not a barrier when it comes to the film industry..A look at actors who started off in Bollywood but found their calling in other movie industries

Jimmy Shergill
Jimmy Shergill made his debut in Bollywood in 1996 with Gulzar's 'Maachis' but he rose to fame with the musical romantic blockbuster 'Mohabbatein'. Jimmy who made his Punjabi film debut with 'Yaaran Naal Baharan' in 2005 stole everyone's hearts with his splendid performance in the Punjabi movie 'Mel Karade Rabba'. Known as the king of romance in Punjabi cinema, Jimmy's performance in 'Mel Karade Rabba' even won him the PTC Best Actor Award.

Ravi Kishan
Ravi Kishan has worked in numerable Bollywood films but it's actually Bhojpuri films that helped him reach his peak of popularity. One of his most successful Bhojpuri movies was 'Devra Bada Satawela' which made a record at the box office. Known as one of the highest paid actors of the Bhojpuri film industry, Ravi's hard work and passion have clearly put him on the balanced success map of both Bhojpuri and Hindi cinema.

Riteish Deshmukh
Winning many accolades in the field of comic acting, Riteish Deshmukh is one of the most beloved comic actors that Bollywood has seen in the past decade. Going back to his roots, in 2013, Reitesh ventured into Marathi cinema as a producer and then in 2014, also acted in a Marathi film, 'Lai Bhaari'. In 2014, Riteish acted in 'Timepass' which became the highest grossing Marathi movie. Riteish has also bagged several awards and accolades for his performance in the film

Hansika Motwani
From child artist to a popular actress, Hansika Motwani debuted as the leading lady in Bollywood with Himesh Reshammiya starrer 'Aap Ka Suroor'. However, her career in Bollywood didn't buy her much accolades but she surely attracted the attention of South film industry and is a now an established actress down south. Hansika made her debut with Telugu movie 'Desamuduru' in 2007 and won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Hansika also tried her hands in the Malayalam film industry with 'Villain' alongside Mohanlal where her performance was praised.

Raveena Tandon
Raveena Tandon established her career with 'Patthar Ke Phool' in 1991 which earned her the Filmfare Award for New Face of the Year. This was followed by a series of unsuccessful films including 'Ek Hi Raasta' and 'Parampara'. The success of the actress marked a turning point in her career in 1993 when she forayed in Telugu cinema with 'Ratha Saradhi' and 'Bangaru Bullodu'.
