John Cena discusses his meeting with Shah Rukh Khan, trying spicy Indian food at Anant Ambani's wedding

Legendary WWE wrestler and actor John Cena met Shah Rukh Khan at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's wedding in July. In an interview with ANI, he described feeling 'awestruck and starstruck' by the Bollywood icon and shared his experience of trying spicy Indian street food.

Recalling his experience of meeting Shah Rukh, Cena told ANI, ‘It was just such an emotional moment to be able to shake a person's hand that affects your life so drastically and tell them specifically what they did. He was amazing. He couldn't have been more empathetic and kind and sharing. It really was wonderful. It was wonderful. I was awestruck, starstruck. It was fantastic.’

During the interaction, Cena shared how Shah Rukh Khan's TED Talk impacted and motivated him to work hard.

‘He (Shah Rukh) did a TED Talk that found me at the right time in my life, and his words were beyond inspirational to me. They helped orchestrate a change in my life. And since that change, I've been able to recognise all the jackpots that I've been given, and been grateful and worked hard to make sure I don't waste them,’ Cena said.

The food at Anant and Radhika's wedding was a standout feature of the week-long celebrations. Reflecting on the experience, Cena said, ‘The Ambani wedding offered a variety of cuisine, and they did Indian food and street food exceptionally well. The food was fantastic. Although my stay was brief, I’d love to return and sample more Indian dishes. The spice level was perfect, just enough to make me break a small sweat. I’m looking forward to testing my spice tolerance when I come back.’

After attending Anant and Radhika's wedding functions, John Cena shared a picture with Shah Rukh on social media. He wrote, ‘A surreal 24 hours. So grateful for the Ambani family for their unmatched warmth and hospitality. An experience filled with so many unforgettable moments which allowed me to connect with countless new friends, including meeting @iamsrk and being able to tell him personally the positive effect he has had on my life (sic).’
