Lata Mangeshkar may have been knows as the 'Nightingale of India' but magic for her golden voice spread beyond the borders to Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal.

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday condoled the death of singing legend Lata Mangeshkar, saying the subcontinent has lost one of the truly great singers the world has known. He added that listening to her songs has given so much pleasure to so many people all over the world.

Bangladesh' Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina recalled Lata Mangeshkar's contribution in the Liberation War of 1971 against Pakistan. She said that Mangeshkar along with her fellow Indian artists, contributed immensely towards promoting the cause of Bangladesh.

Mourning her demise, Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa in a tweet thanked her for the decades of entertainment that transcended borders & gave life to the phrase ‘music is a universal language.

Nepal's President Bidya Devi Bhandari recalled the contribution of Mangeshkar to Nepali songs as she paid her tribute to the legendary Indian singing maestro.
