IPL 2024: Imagine Dragons to set the stage on fire at the closing ceremony in Chennai

It will be a double celebration for the fans of cricket and music. The American pop-rock band Imagine Dragons is all set to perform at the closing ceremony of Indian Premiere League 2024. The final match will be played on May 26 in Chennai’s Chepauk stadium. Star Sports, the official broadcaster of the IPL, announced the news on their X handle along with the video.

Dan Reynolds confirm presence

In the video, the band’s lead singer Dan Reynolds is heard excitedly talking about their presence at the closing ceremony of the much-loved sports finale. The singer also showered praises on RCB skipper Virat Kohli in the video. He said, “This is the stage where we come along. The moment is here. Virat the GOAT, he’s God of all fans. Visiting India was the highlight of my entire career.”

When Imagine Dragons visited India

This would not be the first India visit for Imagine Dragons. The American pop-rock band was in India last time in 2023 for the music festival- Lollapalooza India. The band performed at the inaugural edition of the fest in Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse.

IPL 2024, the most loved Indian cricket league, saw the superstars like Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff and AR Rahman performing at the opening ceremony. It is going to be a nail biting contest between Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla’s Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Pat Cummins led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The match will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday.
