Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit speaks over the controversy surrounding his film '72 Hoorain'; trailer released

The trailer of '72 Hoorain', starring Pavan Malhotra, Aamir Bashir, and Rasheed Naz, has been released. However, the Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan directorial has courted controversy for allegedly misleading claims in its teaser which was released on June 6.

The film received backlash from several prominent religious and political leaders in Kashmir, who said the film's negative portrayal of Muslims ‘hurts the sentiments’ of the community.

Ahead of the trailer release, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) asked the makers to remove some scenes and words.

Now, filmmaker Ashoke Pandit has spoken about the controversy surrounding his upcoming film.

‘They (Censor board) have asked us to remove some scenes and words from the trailer, but they have no objection to keeping those scenes in the film. We are questioning this contradiction. This film is not against any religion and is dealing with terrorism,’ he said.

‘72 Hoorain’ is produced by Saarthie Entertainment and Aliens Pictures and written by Anil Pandey and Junaid Wasi. The movie is all set to release in cinemas on July 7.
