‘Dushman’ clocks 25 years: Kajol says it is ‘one of the scariest films’ she has ever said yes to

Tanuja Chandra’s directorial debut ‘Dushman’, starring Kajol, Sanjay Dutt and Ashutosh Rana, completes 25 years on May 29, 2023. The revenge drama still sends a shiver down one’s spine.

Kajol took to social media on the film’s 25th anniversary and shared a short clip of the movie’s song ‘Pyar Ko Ho Jaane Do’. In her post, she talked about the film and wrote ‘#25years to Dushman. One of the scariest films I have ever said yes to or even watched for that matter. @ashutosh_ramnarayan scared the crap out of me on screen and I’m sure out of all of you guys as well. And a big thanks till today to @poojab1972 and @tanuja__chandra for making me so comfortable with such an uncomfortable topic. Filmmaker Tanuja also reshared Kajol’s post on her Instagram Stories. She wrote, ’25 years ago, my first film, Dushman released. What a journey! Thank you @kajol for marking this day. I loved working with you.’

Ashutosh Rana made his acting debut with ‘Dushman’. After the film’s success, he went on to play a string of negative roles. He also won multiple awards for his performance.

‘Dushman’, produced by Pooja Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt, was a remake of the Hollywood film ‘Eye For An Eye’.
