'Deva' trailer released: Shahid Kapoor shines as rebel cop in action-packed thriller

The much-anticipated trailer for Shahid Kapoor's action-thriller "Deva" has finally been unveiled, offering fans a glimpse of an intense, high-stakes story.

The trailer launch event, held in Mumbai on Friday, showcased Shahid in the role of a fearless and complex cop, treading a fine line between justice and rebellion.

The trailer highlights a dramatic exchange where a senior officer questions Deva's allegiance, asking if he is a cop or a mafia member. Shahid's character responds with a chilling, "I am... mafia." The scene sets the tone for a gripping narrative filled with action and intrigue.

Directed by Rosshan Andrrews and produced by Zee Studios and Siddharth Roy Kapur, "Deva" also stars Pooja Hegde in a pivotal role as a journalist. The film marks Shahid Kapoor's return to the big screen after nearly a year, following his last appearance in "Teri Baaton Mein 'Aisa Uljha Jiya" alongside Kriti Sanon.

At the trailer launch, Shahid Kapoor also addressed the shocking attack on fellow actor Saif Ali Khan, who is recovering after being assaulted by an intruder at his Bandra residence. Shahid expressed his concern and described the incident as deeply unsettling.

"It's a very sad incident, and the whole fraternity is concerned about him. It's very difficult to absorb such experiences when they unfold in your personal space, especially in Mumbai. I am sure the police are trying their best. This doesn't usually happen in Mumbai, as it is a very safe city. We proudly say that girls and our family members are safe on the roads, even at 2-3 a.m. It's very shocking. We are hoping and praying for him the whole time. We hope that Saif's health improves and that he is doing better. I think we are all extremely shocked by what happened to him," Shahid said.

"Deva" is set to release worldwide on January 31, promising an action-packed return for Shahid Kapoor and an unforgettable cinematic experience for fans.
