Siddharth Anand says directing Shah Rukh Khan film is a 'responsibility', hints at ‘Pathaan 2’

Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Pathaan’ is creating waves at the domestic box office as well as at the global market. The film has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark in India and Rs 500 crore mark at the international market. The Siddharth Anand-directorial has even managed to break into the top five gross earners list of North America box office.

On Monday, director Siddharth Anand hinted at the possible sequel of the blockbuster film, ‘Pathaan’ at the press event held in Mumbai.

Shah Rukh also added that if the makers decide to make ‘Pathaan 2’, it'll be his honour to do it.

Siddharth Anand also said that one has to earn a Shah Rukh Khan film.

‘After War, when we were thinking what to make next, I had this title Pathaan with me for a long time. 10 years ago, Shah Rukh and I were talking that someday we shall make something. Then I narrated this story to him. It was on my wish list to make a film with him. You have to earn a Shah Rukh Khan film. I finally got the gift to make a Shah Rukh Khan film,’ he said.

‘When we made the film, I realised that directing Shah Rukh Khan is a responsibility. He is like clay. Whatever you say, he'll do it without any loss of faith. Through that I realised if by any chance a Shah Rukh Khan film doesn't do well, it is because of the director not him. His fans love him just so much. It's a responsibility. There are big fan clubs. Only then I realised that this was a mammoth task. Our last two months were stressful, jo maahol ban raha tha film ke around... Now I'm relieved’, he added.
