Andrew Garfield denies rumors of appearing in Spider-Man 4

Andrew Garfield has firmly denied rumors suggesting that he will appear in Marvel Studios' highly anticipated Spider-Man 4.

The British actor acknowledged that fans may not take his word for it, given that he had previously denied rumors about appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home—only to surprise audiences with an extended cameo alongside Tobey Maguire.

In an interview with GQ UK, Garfield, 41, explained, "I’m gonna disappoint you. Yeah, no. But I know no one’s gonna trust anything I say from now on."

However, Garfield also left the door open to future franchise opportunities, stating that he would not completely rule out the possibility of joining a major project if it felt aligned with his personal values.

He humorously added, "Maybe I’m gonna have like five kids at some point, and I’m gonna need to start saving up for the school tuition or something."

Garfield first portrayed Spider-Man in the 2012 film The Amazing Spider-Man and reprised the role in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014. He made a triumphant return as the web-slinger in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which also saw Tobey Maguire back in his iconic role as Spider-Man from the original 2000s trilogy.

Spider-Man 4 will bring Tom Holland back as the titular superhero, with Zendaya reprising her role as MJ. Production is set to begin in the summer of 2025, with the movie hitting U.S. theaters on July 24, 2026.
