Writer Dhiraj Mishra has confirmed that Urvashi Rautela is on board for the Parveen Babi biopic.

Actor Urvashi Rautela recently announced that she will be playing the role of Parveen Babi in her next film. However, a few reports surfaced later denying her claims and calling them &lsquo;bogus&rsquo;. Now, in an exclusive chat with IndiaToday.in, writer Dhiraj Mishra has confirmed that the actor is indeed on board for the Parveen Babi biopic.
He said, &lsquo;We started working on the screenplay of this film around two years ago. Wasim Khan, who is also the producer of the film, had suggested to me this idea to work on because I have worked on many biopics before. He felt that I'd be able to do better research for this film.&rsquo;
&lsquo;For the film, I spoke to BR Ishara, who introduced Praveen Babi to the industry. He told me a lot about Praveen Babi. I was also in touch with a lot of her relatives. In the process, my first draft was ready, but during that time Ranjish Hi Sahi (Voot series) was out. So, we took a backseat. However, when I watched the series, it looked like it was more about Mahesh Bhatt than Parveen Babi. So, we again began our work on the film and started looking for our lead actress. We were considering names like Sonakshi Sinha and Shraddha Kapoor but for some or the other reason things could not work out,&rsquo; he added.
He shared that he saw Urvashi Rautela performing on &lsquo;Jawani Teri Bijli Ki Taar Hai&rsquo;, a music video and suggested to the producer to consider her for the role of Parveen Babi.
&lsquo;I wanted an actress who has been a part of the industry but isn't a big star and should have her own style. She is also quite popular. And all of these discussions have been going on for the past one-and-a-half months,&rsquo; he said.
He added, &lsquo;I was busy with my film Lafzon Mein Pyaar and TV shows, so I could not meet her at that time and later she left for Cannes. Recently, when I was in Srinagar, I came to know that Urvashi liked the script and she also posted about it on social media. It's all rubbish who are saying that she is not doing this film. Urvashi Rautela is on board! And, if she has posted this on Instagram, people should see it with respect. Trolls have a habit to go after anyone and everyone. Whoever is spreading such news that she isn't doing this film is wrong.&rsquo;

According to India Today report, Priyanka Chopra is likely to be roped in opposite Jr NTR in Prashanth Neel&rsquo;s film. The shooting for the action entertainer is likely to begin in 2024.

Jr NTR fans are eagerly waiting for his film with &lsquo;KGF&rsquo; director Prashanth Neel to go on floors. Now, if reports are to be believed global star Priyanka Chopra has also been approached to star in this project.
According to India Today report, Prashanth Neel will be helming an action entertainer that revolves around the India-Pakistan border, and given that Priyanka is doing a lot of action-based projects, the producers are in talks with her. Sources say the role could be exciting for her.
The movie is being produced in collaboration with NTR Arts, which is Jr NTR's brother Nandamuri Kalyanram's production house. It is expected to go on floors only in 2024.
The filmmakers are yet to confirm this news officially.
Currently, Jr NTR has big projects in his kitty. He is shooting for Koratala Siva's film, &lsquo;Devara&rsquo;, with Jahnvi Kapoor. Tarak also has Hrithik Roshan's &lsquo;War 2&rsquo;, which will mark his big Bollywood debut. The shooting for the Siddharth Anand directorial is likely to start at the end of 2023.
On the other hand, &lsquo;Devara&rsquo;, produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts, is slated to have a pan-Indian release on April 5, 2024, in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. The film marks Janhvi Kapoor's south debut. Saif Ali Khan plays the antagonist in the film.

A federal court in Los Angeles dropped a copyright infringement lawsuit against British singer Dua Lipa, songwriters Clarence Coffee Jr., Sarah Hudson, Stephen Kozmeniuk, and Warner Records. The copyright case involved Lipa&rsquo;s hit song 'Levitating'.
The lawsuit alleged that the song had copied elements from a 2017 song called &lsquo;Live Your Life&rsquo; by the Florida reggae group Artikal Sound System. The U.S. District Judge Sunshine Sykes stated that Artikal Sound System failed to provide sufficient evidence that the writers of &lsquo;Levitating&rsquo; had access to their song.
The court deemed Artikal Sound System's allegations regarding the frequency and location of their performances, as well as the number of CD sales, as vague and insufficient. Artikal Sound System now has the option to file a new amended complaint by June 16. In their 2022 court documents, the group had initially sought profits from &lsquo;Levitating&rsquo; along with damages.
Dua Lipa still faces another copyright infringement lawsuit related to &lsquo;Levitating.&rsquo; Songwriters L. Russell Brown and Sandy Linzer have claimed that she copied their songs &lsquo;Wiggle and Giggle All Night from 1979 and &lsquo;Don Diablo&rsquo; from 1980, which they acquired the copyright for after filing a similar claim.
Dua Lipa&rsquo;s &lsquo;Levitating&rsquo; reached the top spot at Billboard's 2021 year-end Hot 100 Songs chart.
