In a first, Uttarakhand AAP CM face signs affidavit on poll promises, says take me to court if I fail

Big claims and poll promises by parties are nothing new in elections. But what is the guarantee that political parties will good on their promises? None.

But Aam Aadmi Party has turned a new leaf in the country's politics. It's giving legal guarantee on its poll promises.

In a first, Uttarakhand AAP CM candidate Col Ajay Kothiyal (Retd) has given a signed affidavit on party's poll promises. Col Kothiyal has said turned the party's promises into a legal document. He said that anyone can take legal action against him if after coming to power he fails to deliver on the promises made.

Aam Aadmi Party is contesting Uttarakhand elections for the first time. Party has promised to turn the hill state into a spiritual capital for Hindus all over the world. The Arvind Kejriwal led party has put forth a 10-point agenda for Uttarakhand, which includes ending corruption and giving free quality education and medical treatment to all.

Party has promised employment, an unemployment allowance for the jobless, free and uninterrupted electricity, good roads, free pilgrimage to Ayodhya, Ajmer Shareef and Kartarpur Sahib.

AAP has also promised government jobs to retired servicemen and raising compensation to the families of martyrs of the army, police and paramilitary forces to Rs one crore.

AAP has also promised monthly payment of Rs 1,000 to all women aged above 18 years, and an unemployment allowance of Rs 5,000 to jobless youth until they are provided jobs.
