UP Election 2022: Yogi's pre-poll gift for state govt employees, DA hiked by 3%

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has opened government purse strings ahead of the elections next year.

The UP CM on Wednesday announced increase in dearness allowance for all state government employees from 28% to 31%. Further sweetening the deal, Yogi announced that the 3% hike will be applicable from July 2021, ensuring 5 months of arrears to the employees.

The Yogi government has also hiked monthly honorarium of village heads and panchayat officials.

The honorarium of village heads will be increased from Rs 3,500 to Rs 5,000 per month, kshetra panchayat heads will not get Rs 11,300 per month instead of Rs 9,800 and district panchayat chairpersons will be paid Rs 15,500 per month up from Rs 14,000 till now.

CM Yogi Adityanath has also announced an increase in the meeting allowance of district panchayat members from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per meeting for a maximum of six meetings annually.

Similarly, the meeting allowance of kshetra panchayat members will be increased from Rs 500 per meeting to Rs 1,000 for a maximum of six meetings annually.

He announced that gram panchayat members will get Rs 100 per meeting for a maximum of 12 meetings a year.

He also announced financial assistance, ranging between Rs 2 lakh and Rs 10 lakh, for dependents of village heads, kshetra panchayat heads, district panchayat chairpersons in case of their untimely death.
