Who are BJP poster boy K Annamalai's opponents from Coimbatore | Lok Sabha polls

Coimbatore Lok Sabha seat is set to witness a high-stakes battle in the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections that is scheduled to take place on April 19. The BJP poster boy and Tamil Nadu unit president K Annamalai will face DMK leader Ganapathi P Rajkumar and AIADMK's Singai Ramachandran.

Who is DMK's Ganapathi P Rajakumar?

Ganapathi P Rajakumar is a known face in Tamil Nadu. He even served as the 5th mayor of Coimbatore from 2014 to 2016. He is now contesting in the Lok Sabha polls from Coimbatore seat as a candidate of the DMK.

Rajakumar has done Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature, Master of Arts degree in Mass Communication and Bachelor of Laws (LLB). Not just this, he also completed his Doctorate degree (PhD) in Journalism and Mass communication.

Earlier, Rajkumar started his carrer with AIADMK. However, he switched to DMK in 2020 after being sidelined.

Who is AIADMK's Singai G Ramachandran?

Singai Govindarasu Ramachandran was appointed the Secretary of the Information Technology Wing of AIADMK by then chief minister of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa.

Later on, he was appointed as the President of the Information Technology Wing of the party.

He did his diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at PSG Polytechnic College. He then obtained his Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE).
