Phase 2 of Lok Sabha polls will witness a high-profile battle in the Thiruvananthapuram constituency of Kerala. Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, who is a three-time MP from the seat will face Union Minister Rajeev Chandrashekhar of the BJP and CPI veteran Pannian Raveendran.

Shashi Tharoor is seeking a fourth term from Thiruvananthapuram. He has ecpressed confidence in his 15-year track record representing the constituency. Tharoor says his work speaks for itself.

On the other hand, BJP has fielded Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar against Shashi Tharoor. This is the first time that Chandrasekhar will contest Lok Sabha polls.

It is a three-way contest in Thiruvananthapuram as the Communist Party of India (CPI) has fielded veteran leader Pannian Raveendram from this high-profile seat.
