'Take full care of appeasement': Modi hits back at Sanjay Raut for 'bury' remark

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday responded to Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut's 'bury' remark saying that even while abusing him the Opposition leaders take care of appeasement politics.

PM's remarks come in context to Sanjay Raut's comment at an election rally in Ahmednagar where he allegedly talked about burying Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Maharashtra just like Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

Hitting back at Raut without naming him at a public rally in Nandurbar, Maharashtra, the PM said, " "...On one side there is Congress which says 'Modi teri kabr khudegi' and on the other side, there is this fake Shiv Sena that talks about burying me alive. Even while abusing me, they take full care of appeasement. Will you abuse me the way your 'vote bank' likes?..."

Notably, the BJP on Thursday approached the Police and the Election Commission of India seeking action against Raut for his alleged comment, claiming such remarks are a 'direct threat' to the PM

"Raut in his public rally in Ahmednagar had threatened to bury Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Maharashtra. He also tried drawing a parallel between Modi and Aurangzeb. Such comments potentially lead to communal disharmony and affect the peaceful process of the election campaign," the BJP said in its complaint letter to the EC.
