Residents of Nehuta village in Bihar boycott polls over developmental issues

Voting for phase one of the Lok Sabha polls 2024 is underway. However, the polling booth at Nehuta village wore a deserted look as residents of the village in Aurangabad, Bihar boycotted the elections over developmental issues.

According to reports, at this booth, only 3 voters cast their votes in the morning. There are a total of 944 registered voters, out of which 524 are male and 420 are female.

Citizens told reporters that no one works for the development of the village, adding that there were no basic amenities there.

"Even the polling booth is quite far and there is no mode of transport to reach there. Villagers don't have their own vehicles, with such conditions how can one reach the polling booth," the villagers asked.
