Pawan Khera responds to Amit Shah's 'denial mode' dig at party for skipping exit poll debates

The development comes a day after Shah and Nadda took a swipe at Rahul Gandhi, saying that the Congress has been in a "denial mode" since Gandhi began playing a key role in its affairs.

Pawan Khera responds to Amit Shah's 'denial mode' dig at party for skipping exit poll debates

Day, after Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president J P Nadda took a dig at the Congress for its decision to not participate in exit poll debates with a 'denial mode' jibe, party spokesperson Pawan Khera on Saturday, has reacted to Shah's remark.

Taking to X, Khera offered Shah a deal where he suggested that the Bharatiya Janata Party should celebrate on June 1, while the Congress would celebrate on June 4-- counting day.

Khera wrote, “Dear Shri@AmitShah, here’s the deal: You celebrate on the 1st. We will celebrate on the 4th."

Earlier on Friday, Congress spokesperson and media department chairperson Pawan Khera informed the grand old party's decision to skip exit polls.

"The results will be out on 4th June. Prior to that, we do not see any reason to indulge in speculation and slugfest for TRP," he said in a statement shared on X.

"The Indian National Congress will not participate in the debates on Exit Polls. The purpose of any debate should be to inform the people. We will happily partake in debates from 4th June onwards," Khera said in a statement.

The decision was taken after consultations within the party, the sources said.

Subsequently, taking a swipe at Rahul Gandhi, Shah said in a statement that the Congress has been in a "denial mode" since he began playing a key role in its affairs.

"The Congress ran the campaign through the polls that it is going to get a majority. But it has now realised the reality and knows that it faces a rout in the exit polls to be broadcast after the elections tomorrow," Shah said.
