Netflix' upcoming show 'Aranyak' is making all the right noises ahead of its release. Raveena Tandon makes her digital debut on Netflix with the show, where she plays Kasturi Dogra, a brainy and brawny woman police officer is the hilly town of Sironah.

Raveena tries to locate a missing child in hilly town of Sironah, who disappears with her boyfriend under mysterious circumstances.

The series also stars actors Parambrata Chatterjee, Ashutosh Rana, Meghna Malik, in key roles. Rohan Sippy is the showrunner, and Vinay Waikul is the director of 'Aranyak'.

In a conversation with the cast of 'Aranyank', Raveena opened up about what drew to her to the supernatural thriller.

Speaking on her role of Kasturi Dogra, Raveena said, women will identify with the character's struggles, as Kasturi Dogra holds her own in a world ruled by men and is strong in the face of all odds.

Showrunner Rohan Sippy said, the idea for 'Araynak' was conceived after a trip to Himachal by writer Charu Dutt. He added that the emotional arc of Kasturi Dogra's character brings show to life, and he's really excited about their labour of love.

Known for playing the 'bad guy', actor Ashutosh Rana got candid on what scares him the most. Rana said, he is scared of himself, as he has many conflicts within him.

Raveena also revealed how 'Aranyak' connects her Bollywood debut film 'Patthar ke Phool'. Raveena said, 30 years ago, she made her film debut with Sippy films & she's glad to start her 2nd innings with Sippy films as well. She joked, saying, she hoped that fans will tolerate me for 30 more years.

But the shoot for 'Arayaak' was not an easy one. The series was shot with Covid guidelines in place and the snow in Himachal made things difficult for the cast and crew. Makers say the show's climax was shot in knee-deep snow, and the crew faced trouble reaching location, where even breathing was difficult.

Raveena and actor Meghna Malik also spoke about how OTT platforms and content being created for them , are opening up for avenues for women actors, beyond the typical roles.

Raveena said, audiences are unforgiving, and mediocre shows don't make the cut. She said, content has and will always be the king, not the stars or actors.
