Vistara Pilot: There was an uproar by netizens after Vistara rejected its Pilot's emergency leave request for Mother's illness. Screenshots of an email denying leave to the pilot, who apparently wanted to accompany the mother for her medical check-up, emerged on social media today.

The email that was shared as a screenshot asks the employee to reschedule the medical appointment or arrange for a relative to take care of their mother.

Netizens shared their anger and displeasure over the issue as many criticised the airline for overlooking the needs of their employees.

One X user posted in the micro blogging site, “I think the ‘human’ element is being completing taken out of a pilot- airline equation. But pilots are expected to ‘fly safe’ and be happy in any situation! Pits!”

Another user took a dig at the HR and said, “This is what happens when you recruit non qualified HR".

Meanwhile, a third commentator asked what is the use of emergency leaves if the Pilots can't avail them

“This is sickening. Emergencies don't arrive with a sign. What is the use of having emergency leaves if the pilots can't avail them? This is such a toxic workplace dynamic,” a third commenter added
