Nasscom Tech and Leadership Forum 2022: Charting the giant leap of the next tech

The summit underlines that while technology innovation has a role to play in every aspect of life, it is time for leaders to rethink their strategies to shape a better future.

Nasscom Tech and Leadership Forum 2022: Charting the giant leap of the next tech

IT industry body Nasscom kickstarted the 30th edition of its flagship Nasscom Technology and Leadership Forum (NTLF) which will span over February 16-18, 2022. Themed 'Shaping the Techade: The New Now', NTLF 2022 will delve deeper into three focus areas - the new wave of growth and the changing transformation of every business as a tech business; leading in the new and reimagining models to maximise the impact of tech; and the role of future technologies in shaping a better future.

Inaugurating the session, Rekha Menon, Chairperson of Nasscom spoke about "The Giant Leap of the Next Tech". Here is an excerpt-:

It's also clear that there can be no leadership without technology leadership. As we look ahead into FY'23 and beyond, we see three trends that will power our growth and shape the decade. The first is that every business is now a technology business. We've entered a new era of exponential transformation where technology is reshaping industries and human experiences and doing it at a pace and scale that was previously impossible. This translates into wider adoption of technology, whether it's cloud, AI, automation, and others to equip businesses with intelligence, insight and trust to reimagine and stayresilient.

The second is a broad consensus that businesses need to be purpose run. In an era of stakeholder capitalism, CEOs are being asked to redefine their priorities with inclusion and sustainability at the top of the growth agenda and those who do balance purposes profit are already reaping financial rewards. We know that technology can play a pivotal role in driving sustainability agendas. And while we use it responsibly, we also need to ensure that we make technology itself more sustainable.

And third, the blending of physical and virtual environments is providing new ways for people to work, consume, socialize, and therefore creating new opportunities for us new products, services and experiences, or even new realities like Metaverse.

As more organizations blend virtual and physical worlds, they need to adapt their people, processes, technology and operations and look at collaboration with a wider set of partners to push the boundaries of what is possible.

They say the best way to predict the future is to invent it and to invent our future. In this exciting newphase, we need to double down on existing priorities and create new ones.
