Countries with the least paid leaves—the U.S. ranks at two

Paid vacation days are essential to promoting healthy work-life balance among professionals but Americans are seriously lacking the ability to take time to reset.

The report, which reviewed data on laws governing annual statutory paid leave and paid public holidays in 197 countries, found that the United States is the second worst country for paid vacation days.

The U.S. ranks near the bottom, with an average of just 10 days of paid time off—including federal holidays.

Meanwhile workers in Iran, San Marino, and Yemen—the three countries with the most paid vacation days given to workers—receive an average of 53, 46, and 45 paid days off, respectively.
