India and Jordan on Monday inked MoUs in the fields of culture, renewable energy, water management, digital public infrastructure and twinning arrangement between Petra and Ellora, aimed at giving a major boost to bilateral ties and friendship.
In a series of social media posts on Tuesday, Modi said these outcomes mark a "meaningful expansion" of the India-Jordan partnership.
Cooperation between India and Jordan in new and renewable energy "reflects a shared commitment to clean growth, energy security and climate responsibility", he said.
The Prime Minister said collaboration in water resources management and development would enable the two countries to share best practices in conservation, efficiency and technology, aimed at ensuring long-term water security.
Highlighting cultural cooperation, he said a Twinning Agreement between Petra and Ellora would "open new avenues for heritage conservation, tourism and academic exchanges".
Modi also said the renewal of the Cultural Exchange Programme for 2025&ndash;2029 would further deepen people-to-people ties between the two countries.
Sharing India's digital innovations with Jordan will support the kingdom's digital transformation and promote inclusive governance, he said.
In a press briefing on Tuesday, Neena Malhotra, Secretary (South) in the Ministry of External Affairs, said during his meeting with PM Modi, King Abdullah II conveyed strong support for India's fight against terrorism and condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
The Prime Minister commended the leading efforts by the King on "deradicalisation", she said.
Modi's visit to Jordan marks 75 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and the Arab nation.
This was the prime minister's full-fledged bilateral visit to Jordan. He had transited through Jordan in February 2018, while on his way to Palestine.
India and Jordan share strong economic ties, with New Delhi being the third-largest trading partner of Amman. The bilateral trade between the two countries is valued at USD 2.8 billion.
Jordan is also a leading supplier of fertilisers to India, particularly phosphates and potash.
The Arab country is home to a vibrant Indian diaspora of over 17,500 people employed across sectors such as textiles, construction, and manufacturing.
From Jordan, Modi will head to Ethiopia on the second leg of his three-nation tour.

US President Donald Trump on Monday filed a lawsuit seeking at least $10 billion from the BBC over a documentary that edited his 2021 speech to supporters ahead of the US Capitol riot.
The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Miami, seeks "damages in an amount not less than $5,000,000,000" for each of two counts against the British broadcaster, for alleged defamation and violation of the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act.
Trump, 79, had said earlier on Monday that the lawsuit was imminent, claiming the BBC had "put words in my mouth," even positing that "they used AI or something."
The documentary at issue aired last year before the 2024 election, on the BBC's "Panorama" flagship current affairs program.
The video spliced together two separate sections of Trump's speech on January 6, 2021 in a way that made it appear he explicitly urged supporters to attack the Capitol, where lawmakers were certifying Joe Biden's 2020 election win.
"The formerly respected and now disgraced BBC defamed President Trump by intentionally, maliciously, and deceptively doctoring his speech in a brazen attempt to interfere in the 2024 Presidential Election," a spokesperson for Trump's legal team said in a statement to AFP.
"The BBC has a long pattern of deceiving its audience in coverage of President Trump, all in service of its own leftist political agenda," the statement added.
The British Broadcasting Corporation, whose audience extends well beyond the United Kingdom, faced a period of turmoil last month after a media report brought renewed attention to the edited clip.
The scandal led the BBC director-general and the organization's top news executive to resign.
Trump's lawsuit accuses the edited speech in the documentary of being "fabricated and aired by the Defendants one week before the 2024 Presidential Election in a brazen attempt to interfere in and influence the Election's outcome to President Trump's detriment."
The BBC has denied Trump's claims of legal defamation, though BBC chairman Samir Shah has sent Trump a letter of apology.
Shah also told a UK parliamentary committee last month that the broadcaster should have acted sooner to acknowledge its mistake after the error was disclosed in a memo, which was leaked to The Daily Telegraph newspaper.
The BBC lawsuit is the latest in a string of legal action Trump has taken against media companies in recent years, several of which have led to multi-million-dollar settlements.

They have boarded a flight for Delhi and will be handed over to Indian authorities on arrival, sources said. The duo will be produced before a Delhi court for further legal proceedings, they said. A case of culpable homicide and negligence has been registered against them in connection with the fire.
Videos circulating online showed Gaurav, 44, and Saurav, 40, being escorted by Thai police at Bangkok airport ahead of their departure for India.
The deportation comes days after the two were detained in Phuket on December 11 following the intervention of the Indian mission, which was in close touch with the Thai government in the case.
The Luthra brothers, co-owners of &lsquo;Birch by Romeo Lane&rsquo; nightclub in Arpora in North Goa, had left for Thailand shortly after the December 6 fire. They were reportedly attending a wedding in Delhi at the time of the incident. An Interpol Blue Corner Notice was issued against the duo.
The blaze had sparked widespread outrage and raised serious questions over alleged safety violations and lapses by the nightclub management. The Indian government, after cancelling the passports of the two brothers, had submitted a dossier to Thai authorities alleging their involvement in the deaths of 25 people and formally sought their deportation. India and Thailand signed an Extradition Treaty in 2013, which came into force in June 2015.
The Goa Police have so far arrested five managers and staff members of the nightclub in connection with the case.

Sajid Akram and his son Naveed opened fire on Jewish crowds thronging the famous beach for Hanukkah on Sunday evening, killing 15 people and wounding dozens more.
Authorities said the attack was designed to sow panic among the nation's Jews, but have so far given little detail about the gunmen's deeper motivations.
Albanese gave one of the first hints that the pair had been radicalised by an "ideology of hate".
"It would appear that this was motivated by Islamic State ideology," Albanese told national broadcaster ABC.
"With the rise of ISIS more than a decade ago now, the world has been grappling with extremism and this hateful ideology," he said in a separate interview.
Police found a car registered to Naveed Akram parked near the beach in the aftermath of the shooting.
They found improvised bombs and "two homemade ISIS flags", New South Wales Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon said on Tuesday, using another name for the Islamic State group.
Authorities are facing mounting questions over whether they could have acted earlier to foil the attack.
Albanese said Naveed Akram, reportedly an unemployed bricklayer, had come to the attention of Australia's intelligence agency in 2019 but was not considered an imminent threat at the time.
"They interviewed him, they interviewed his family members, they interviewed people around him," Albanese said.
"He was not seen at that time to be a person of interest."
Police are still piecing together the duo's movements before the shooting.
A key question is whether they met with Islamist extremists on a trip to the Philippines last month, Australian media reported.
"The reasons why they went to the Philippines, and the purpose of that, and where they went, is under investigation at the moment," Lanyon told reporters on Tuesday.
Naveed reportedly told his mother on the day of the attack that he was heading out of the city on a fishing trip.
Instead, authorities believe that he was holed up in a rental apartment with his father plotting the assault.
Carrying long-barrelled guns, they peppered the beach and a nearby park with bullets for 10 minutes before police shot and killed 50-year-old Sajid.
Naveed, 24, remains in a coma in hospital under police guard.
 - Stricter gun control? -
A 10-year-old girl, a Holocaust survivor and a local rabbi were among those killed, while 42 others were rushed to hospital with gunshot wounds and other injuries.
Australia's leaders agreed on Monday to toughen laws that allowed father Sajid to own six guns.
Mass shootings have been rare in Australia since a lone gunman killed 35 people in the tourist town of Port Arthur in 1996.
The Port Arthur Massacre sparked a world-leading crackdown that included a gun buyback scheme and limits on semi-automatic weapons.
But many Australians are now questioning whether those laws are equipped to deal with online sales and a steady rise in privately owned guns.
"This horrific situation now, it does make me personally feel that they need to be stricter," David Sovyer, 43, told AFP.
Retiree Allan McRae, 75, said "not a lot of people need a gun".
"It would've reduced the possibility of it happening if more people had reduced access to a gun," he told AFP.
 - Failed to act -
The attack has also revived allegations that Australia is dragging its feet in the fight against antisemitism.
"The last four years, I was very clear. And I was very clear about the dangers of the rise in antisemitism," Israel's ambassador to Australia, Amir Maimon, said while visiting a memorial to the victims on Tuesday.
Australian Jewish Association head Robert Gregory told AFP the government had "failed to take adequate actions to protect the Jewish community".
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Australia's decision to recognise Palestinian statehood this year had poured "oil on the fire of antisemitism".
Desperate to help, Australians have lined up in their thousands to donate blood to the wounded.
Red Cross Australia said more than 7,000 people had given blood on Monday, smashing the previous national record.
A makeshift flower memorial next to Bondi Beach swelled in size on Monday evening as mourners gathered to pay tribute to the victims and mark the second day of Hanukkah.
Hundreds of mourners, including members of the Jewish community, sang songs, clapped and held each other.

But contrary to Trump's claim on fentanyl fatalities, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported an estimated total of about 80,000 overdose deaths in the country in 2024, with some 48,000 of those due to synthetic opioids.
The executive order said "illicit fentanyl is closer to a chemical weapon than a narcotic," and that its manufacture and distribution "threatens our national security and fuels lawlessness in our hemisphere and at our borders."
The fentanyl classification ties in with the Trump administration's war against alleged "narco-terrorists," which has included a military campaign targeting alleged drug-smuggling boats with strikes that have left nearly 90 people dead since early September.
But while Trump claims that each boat destroyed -- there have been more than 20 -- saves 25,000 American lives, the vessels are thought to be transporting cocaine rather than far-deadlier fentanyl, which is primarily smuggled into the United States from Mexico rather than by boat from Colombia or Venezuela.
Trump has accompanied the strikes with a massive military buildup in the Caribbean that includes the world's largest aircraft carrier and a slew of other warships, while a string of US military aircraft have flown along Venezuela's coast in recent weeks.
While Trump and his administration say the target of the military buildup is drug-trafficking, Venezuela's leftist leader Nicolas Maduro accuses Washington of using narcotics smuggling as a pretext for regime change in Caracas.

Thai authorities, meanwhile, are examining the legal complexities involved. The brothers are stated to have entered Thailand on valid travel documents, which were later revoked by Indian authorities, leaving them without valid papers. This has prompted Thai officials to examine the issue from multiple legal perspectives, including aspects related to basic human rights, sources said.
Indian government sources on Friday reportedly said that authorities in Thailand are initiating the process to deport the Luthra brothers. However, with legal and diplomatic considerations at play, the embassy sources indicated that the duo is unlikely to return to India in the immediate future.
The matter is now expected to be subject to detailed arguments before a local court, where all parties will be heard before any final decision is taken, they said.
Five managers and staff members have already been arrested by the Goa Police in connection with the fire.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Modi noted that it was an honour for him to accept the award from one of most ancient civilisations of the world, and he did so with a deep sense of humility and gratitude, the statement said.
"...I also express heartfelt gratitude to my friend PM Abiy Ahmed Ali. Last month, when we met during the G20 Summit in South Africa, with great love and right, you had urged me to visit Ethiopia. How could I have turned down this invitation from my friend, my brother? So, at the first chance, I decided to come to Ethiopia," Modi said after receiving the award.
Prime Minister Modi also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Abiy and the people of Ethiopia for this honour.
He also expressed appreciation for the leadership of Prime Minister Abiy and his initiatives to promote national unity, sustainability, and inclusive development, the statement said.
Underlining the salience of knowledge for nation building, Prime Minister Modi stated that it was a privilege for Indian teachers for over a century now to contribute towards Ethiopia&rsquo;s progress and development, it said.
"We, in India, have always believed... Education is the foundation stone of any country. I am proud that in Ethiopia and India relations, the most significant contribution has been from our teachers," he said.
"...Together with Ethiopia, we are committed to furthering such partnerships which can bring forth a solution to evolving global challenges and build new opportunities."
Modi dedicated the award to all those &ndash; Indians and Ethiopians - who have nurtured the bilateral ties for ages and conveyed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the 1.4 billion Indians for being bestowed with this honour, the statement said.
The conferment of the award marks a milestone in the close partnership between India and Ethiopia and in furthering the positive agenda of the Global South.

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday sharply expanded a travel ban by barring people from seven more countries including Syria, as well as Palestinian Authority passport holders, from entering the United States.
The latest move brings to nearly 40 the number of countries whose citizens face restrictions in coming to the United States solely by virtue of nationality, with Trump also tightening rules for routine travel from Western nations.
It comes as Trump, who has long made hostility to immigration a signature issue, orders mass deportations and takes an increasingly strident tone against non-white new Americans.
The White House in a proclamation said it was banning foreigners who "intend to threaten" Americans.
Trump also wants to prevent foreigners in the United States who would "undermine or destabilize its culture, government, institutions or founding principles," the proclamation said.
Syrians were banned days after two US troops and a civilian were killed in the war-torn country, which Trump has moved to rehabilitate internationally since the fall of longtime ruler Bashar al-Assad.
Syrian authorities said the perpetrator was a member of the security forces who was due to be dismissed for "extremist Islamist ideas."
The Trump administration had already informally barred travel for Palestinian Authority passport holders as it acts in solidarity with Israel against the recognition of a Palestinian state by other leading Western countries including France and Britain.
Other countries newly subjected to the full travel ban came from some of Africa's poorest countries -- Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Sierra Leone and South Sudan -- as well as Laos in southeast Asia.
In a series of new actions, Trump also imposed partial travel restrictions on citizens of other African countries including the most populous, Nigeria, as well as Ivory Coast and Senegal, which qualified for the World Cup set to be played next year in the United States as well as Canada and Mexico.
The Trump administration has promised to let in athletes for football's signature competition, but has made no such promises for fans of blacklisted countries.
Other countries slapped with partial restrictions were from Africa or largely Black nations in the Caribbean -- Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Dominica, Gabon, The Gambia, Malawi, Mauritania, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe -- plus the Polynesian country of Tonga.
Angola, Senegal and Zambia have all been prominent US partners in Africa, with former president Joe Biden hailing the three for commitment to democracy.

- Ramping up anti-immigrant tone -
Global Refuge, a Christian-based group that supports refugees, warned that the travel ban would push vulnerable people further into harm's way.
"The administration is once again using the language of security to justify blanket exclusions that punish entire populations, rather than utilizing individualized, evidence-based screening," said the group's president and CEO, Krish O'Mara Vignarajah.
Trump has used increasingly loaded language, complaining at a rally last week that the United States was only taking people from "shithole countries" and instead should seek immigrants from Norway and Sweden.
He also recently described Somalis as "garbage" following a scandal in which Somali Americans allegedly bilked the government out of money for fictitious contracts in Minnesota.
Trump had already banned the entry of Somalis. Other countries remaining on the full travel ban are Afghanistan, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Myanmar, Sudan, and Yemen.
Trump last month made the ban even more sweeping against Afghans, severing a program that brought in Afghans who had fought alongside the United States against the Taliban, after an Afghan veteran who appeared to have post-traumatic stress shot two National Guards troops deployed by Trump in Washington.
The White House acknowledged "significant progress" by one initially targeted country, Turkmenistan.
The Central Asian country's nationals will once again be able to secure US visas, but only as non-immigrants.
Trump has also all but ended refugee admissions, with the United States now only accepting South Africans from the white Afrikaner minority.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Israel on Tuesday on a two-day visit during which he will hold talks with the country's senior leadership on bilateral and regional issues.
The visit comes as preparations are underway for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's proposed visit to India. Netanyahu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke recently over the phone, after which the Israeli leader said the two would be &ldquo;meeting very soon&rdquo;.
During his stay, Jaishankar is scheduled to meet Israeli President Isaac Herzog, Prime Minister Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Gideon Sa&rsquo;ar.
"The discussions will revolve around bilateral and regional issues with a view to further deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries,&rdquo; sources told PTI.
Jaishankar arrived in Tel Aviv from Abu Dhabi, where he participated in the high-profile Sir Bani Yas Forum.
He also attended the 16th India&ndash;UAE Joint Commission Meeting and the 5th round of the India&ndash;UAE Strategic Dialogue held on December 15.
Netanyahu's much-anticipated visit to India is expected to follow a series of high-level exchanges between the two sides.
Israeli Minister of Tourism Haim Katz, Minister of Economy and Industry Nir Barkat, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Avi Dichter and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich visited India earlier this year as the two countries build momentum towards a Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
India and Israel inked a Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) during Smotrich's visit to New Delhi in September, followed by the signing of the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the proposed FTA during the visit of Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal to Israel last month.
In the defence sector, the two countries last month inked a landmark agreement to enhance defence, industrial, and technological cooperation, enabling sharing of advanced technology to promote co-development and co-production.
India and Israel have also expanded cooperation in the cultural and academic spheres, with film festivals, dance performances and filmmaker exchanges aimed at strengthening people-to-people ties.
On Monday, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and Tel Aviv University signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish an India Chair at the university to boost academic cooperation.

In his first visit to Ethiopia, the prime minister will address the Joint Session of Parliament and share his thoughts on India's journey as the "Mother of Democracy" and the value that the India-Ethiopia partnership can bring to the Global South.
Modi will also hold discussions with Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali and meet the Indian diaspora.
PM Modi arrived in Jordan's capital Amman on Monday on a two-day visit at the invitation of King Abdullah II.
India and Jordan on Monday inked MoUs in the fields of culture, renewable energy, water management, digital public infrastructure and twinning arrangement between Petra and Ellora, aimed at giving a major boost to bilateral ties and friendship.
From Ethiopia, Modi will visit Oman on the third leg of this three-nation tour.
