Watch: 7-year-old Ukrainian skater creates magic as he returns to the ice in UK

A seven-year-old Ukrainian figure skater has returned to the ice in the UK after fleeing the war in his country.

Gosha Mandziuk, who now lives in Bristol with his mother Iryna, has competed nationally and was also part of an ice hockey team in Ukraine.

Gosha's mother Iryna told British broadcaster Sky News that skating is Gosha's "biggest passion" and that he wants to keep up his training regime while he's in Britain.

But the cost of coaching and having somewhere to train is considerably higher in the UK, she said.

"Now it is minimum five times more expensive and it's not affordable at the moment," she told Sky.

Gosha and his mother arrived in the UK last month and have been staying with host Caroline Drugan and her family.

Drugan said the "perilous journey" Gosha's father made back to Kyiv just to get his skating equipment showed how important it was to them as a family.
