USA: roller-coaster stops mid-way, riders stuck upside-down for almost an hour

An amusement park ride in America turned into an experience of anxiety and distress on May 6. Riders on a roller coaster were stranded for almost an hour, that too upside-down.

This occurred after the roller coaster stopped mid-ride, and it took the staff around 45 minutes to resolve the issue. No one was injured.

The incident occurred at the Carowinds amusement park in America's North Carolina. The ride was the Flying Cobra which sends people through a 360-degree loop at speeds up to 80 kmph. Riders are flipped 6 times in the 125-foot tall roller coaster.

Carowinds management said that the maintenance team responded quickly, and the riders were not in danger at any point in time. The riders who were stuck got two fast pass vouchers each.
