Houthi Attack on Cargo Ship in Red Sea Claims Lives of 3 Mariners

Dubai, Jul 8 (AP) An attack by Yemen's Houthi rebels on a Liberian-flagged cargo ship in the Red Sea has resulted in the deaths of three mariners, with two others sustaining injuries, according to a statement from a European Union naval force on Tuesday.

The Greek-owned vessel, Eternity C, was targeted in an assault that inflicted severe harm, leading to one of the wounded victims losing a leg, as per information shared by the EU's Operation Aspides to The Associated Press.

The incident started on Monday night and extended into the early hours of Tuesday, officials reported.

While the Houthis have not yet officially taken responsibility for the attack, the EU naval force and various other observers have attributed the assault to them.

This incident follows a recent claim by the Houthis, asserting they were behind another attack that allegedly sank a different ship in the Red Sea.
